Edifying The Church-As a Member of Christ’s Body, Humble service is required

As a member of Christ’s body, Humble service is required

A majority of observers assume that God has not given all his gifts to all his adherents. However, that is not the case. The Lord gives these gifts to anyone who is subjected to meekness, boldness, humility, and purity of heart. The one who attends to the desire to know God and walk in pure obedience is able to receive these gifts from the Lord. Every person is unique and thus will be blessed with a wide array of different gifts which are exhibited in the diversity of the individual.

As stated in Romans 12:3–8 “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

A manifestation of the grace and righteousness of God must be exhibited on earth through the Body of Christ for it to be a visible expression of his grace and righteousness on earth. As a fundamental purpose of the Spirit in the new covenant era, one of the primary functions of the Spirit is to manifest the presence of God, to give indications that make the presence of God known to us in a way in which we can comprehend it. The whole body of Christ Jesus, then, has to be an expression of the true righteousness of God through every given spiritual gift that was intended by God to bring heaven “revelation” of His power, authority, and strength, and in order to make heaven reveal Himself in a way which will lead to the revelation of His righteousness.

Oh Lord, you are our source of strength and companionship, and we ask that you help us remember that, so that we may love one another as You have loved us and become a reflection of Your unfailing and unconditional love, we also ask that You protect us from the attacks of the enemy. Lord God, we know, it is our duty as members of Christ’s body to provide humble service. We ask you for the wisdom that will enable us to discern your will able to remain steadfastly rooted in your Word for as long as it is needed for us to fulfill our responsibilities according to your will.
